Your browser's built-in history search only matches page titles and URLs, so finding something you read weeks ago means remembering the right address. Datarag removes that requirement: it lets you search your browsing history by describing what was actually on the page.
Search by what was on the page
Datarag indexes the content of every page you read, not just its title or URL. That means a plain-language query — a phrase from the article, the topic it covered, a detail you remember — is enough to find it again. You don't need the exact keywords a title-only search would require, and you don't need to reconstruct the URL from memory.
What's in your searchable history
Pages are indexed after they've fully loaded, so your searchable history reflects what you actually read. That history syncs across browsers and devices, so a page you read on one machine is searchable on another. Google Meet transcripts are captured and indexed the same way, making meetings searchable alongside pages. Datarag runs as an extension on Chrome, Edge, Brave, Firefox, Arc, and other Chromium-based browsers.
Search, or ask an AI instead
Plain-language search is one way to query your history. The other is AI chat: ask a question and get an answer generated using your indexed browsing history as context, instead of scanning search results yourself. Both draw on the same underlying index — search when you want to find a specific page, chat when you want an answer synthesized from several. Frequently asked questions
If my data is encrypted, how does search and AI chat work?
When you perform an action in Datarag, your data is temporarily decrypted in memory on our secure servers and immediately re-encrypted. Your PIN never leaves your device, and we never store unencrypted content.
It works by lending us a temporary decryption key derived from your PIN and other secrets for the duration of the request, after which everything is wiped from memory, and nothing is stored or logged.
What about incognito/private browsing? Is that captured too?
No, Datarag does not capture browsing activity in incognito or private browsing mode. Browser extensions are typically disabled in private browsing sessions by default, respecting your privacy when you choose to browse privately.
On top of that, we implement Not-Safe-For-Work (NSFW) filters to avoid capturing sensitive content, including adult sites, gambling pages, and social media networks automatically. And you're always in control: you can toggle page indexing off at any time, for full control over what does and doesn't get saved. We want you to browse with confidence.
